3123 Nutrisystem Consumer Reviews and Complaints
You're probably better off to go somewhere that offers personalized help. I find when I start focusing on a number on the scale, it can "make or break" my day. At the same time, reading other people's testimonies and reviews of the Nutrisystem diet was encouraging and inspiring, too. I'd add that you need to drink lots of water every day. There are many advantages along with some disadvantages that accompany most diets.
What is Nutrisystem?

I want to try nutrisystem but i would like to know how fast you lose the weight cause i only need to lose like lbs. Are you sure you want to delete this answer? I first did Nutri-System in the early 90's when they still had their centers where you go in for your weekly weigh-ins and pick up your food.
I stuck to the plan perfectly I tend to get "OCD" like that some times. I did it in between semesters in college during the summer.
I lost a lot of weight I also had my doctor sign a note to get me out of the meal plan in college we were required to take one if you lived on campus so I could still continue with Nutri System. Well, it worked some more I still lost weight, until one day I just sort of "snapped". Each week when I went into the Center to pick up my week of food and get my weigh in, I would start to order 6 or 7 boxes of macaroni and cheese and other foods that were my favorite.
Then, I started binging on them!!! I would literally make 4 mac and cheeses at the same time, add hot sauce, and gorge myself. Well, you can guess it, I gained all the weight back very quickly, then some. The food was not that bad that I remember.
Some was just "okay", I remember having to add boiling water to a dried meat like product to make it a hamburger, LOL. That was kind of weird, but it didn't taste THAT bad. Now, that brings us to the present. I have been through quite a few other diets since then I heard they changed the program where now you just get the food delivered to you in the mail and they don't have centers anymore. I don't even weigh myself, because my clothes tell me all I need to know.
I find when I start focusing on a number on the scale, it can "make or break" my day. So, I did the math, and found that I was spending more money on fast food and pizza, and Chinese takeout than I would if I did Nutri System. I know it sounds kind of weird, but I am not even looking at this as a diet.
And then a lot of days, I would go most of the day without even eating because I was so busy at work. I needed to get some normality back in my life as far as food in concerned. Plus, this is a BIG one: I hate to shop, and I hate to cook. So, I am trying it again The food this time around is definitely much improved IMO. I know that I can't eat this stuff forever, and will eventually have to learn how to cook since I'm getting married next year and want to have a family, but for now it seems to be working okay, and as I mentioned before, oddly enough, I am actually SAVING money by doing Nutri-System.
I would spend that on lunch alone easily many days!! Last night I had the chicken with basil sauce, it was surprisingly good I also tried the "cup of soup" like thing with Thai sauce and peanuts and noodles. You just mix with boiling water and let it sit for 6 minutes and wa-la, it is done!
It was pretty good too And again, I am well aware that eventually I will have to eat "real" food, but this does help you get the portion control down right. It is amazing how little really can fill you up although the portions aren't THAT small at all.
I just like it for the convenience most of all. It makes my life more bearable, seriously! Was on it in the early 90's, and am on it now. I did the nutrisystem but it didn't work for me. That is not to say that it won't work for you.
I was actually quite impressed with the food and it does teach a couple of good points. Portion Control, portion control, portion control. It also gets you eating as often as you should times a day. By keeping the portions small you end up eating that often and it keeps the metabolism going. The food is actually well made. There were no artificial sweetners in anything and everything had a lot of fiber and protein in it, which is always good.
If you are someone who wants it to be easy that the food is already made and you just pick what you want to eat then nutrisystem is the way to go. If you think you can make the food yourself then don't do the nutrisystem. But I do think that it is worth the try. Is Nutrisystem Worth It. Each of these programs have accountability which is needed. If Nutrisystem just sends you the food and you eat it, there is not accounability to keep you on track.
It is safe to lose only about 2 lbs per week. The company says members using its online tools in addition to attending meetings lost 50 percent more weight than those going to meetings alone. But telephone support has some evidence in its favor: Yes, it's a bargain for round-the-clock support. For about the same money, other services offer better track records. For the first two weeks, you eat three extremely low-carb meals a day plus mandatory snacks.
After that, you gradually add "good carbs," such as fruits and whole grains. You can customize menus, search a database of more than 1, recipes and get a personalized shopping list. There's online support from staff dieticians and members plus daily motivational emails. However, the advantage disappeared over the long term. How much can you expect to lose? Figure on 8 to 13 pounds during the two- week kick-start phase, then 1 to 2 pounds a week thereafter.

Premium-priced Jenny Craig lets you order its heart-healthy, nutritionally balanced packaged food by phone and pick it up at a Jenny Craig center or have it delivered through Jenny Direct. You eat three Jenny Craig meals plus a snack per day, and supplement with fruit, vegetables and dairy. Once a week, you get a weigh-in and pep talk with a consultant - who is not a dietician and who earns commissions from selling you products.
There's also round-the-clock phone support. Jenny Craig has a good track record for short-term weight loss up to one year. The "doctor-designed" Bistro M. The price is a cut above the competition, too. The plan tries to help you avoid a weight-loss stall out by varying the daily calorie intake between 1, and 1, By eating a little more some days and a little less on others, you'll supposedly prevent your body from becoming used to the same number of calories every day.
While no university studies support the theory that varying caloric intake aids weight loss, the high quality of the food and the relatively large portion sizes have been praised by Health magazine, Dr. Phil and The New York Times. Some plan users have complained of a lack of choices and menu flexibility compared to other plans, but a company spokesman says they offer more than entrees and can make substitutions to accommodate allergies and food preferences.
It's a reasonable price for well-made food with slightly faster average weight loss than with Jenny Craig. This meal-delivery service, endorsed by Marie Osmond and Dan Marino, emphasizes foods with a low glycemic index. The underlying premise is that controlling blood sugar levels leads to weight loss. The heat-and-eat prepared meals and snacks contain roughly 55 percent "good" carbs, 25 percent protein, and 20 percent fats; like Jenny Craig, you add fruits, vegetables and dairy.
Support is available through phone counseling and online chat rooms. There's plenty of research showing that following a diet of 1, to 1, calories a day, such as Nutrisystem, can cause weight loss.
For example, a study by the Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York found that postmenopausal women who followed a 1,calorie plan for 16 weeks lost an average of 21 pounds.
For a meal-delivery diet system, Nutrisystem is more economical than Jenny Craig. Although today's program is not as stringent as the original liquid fast Medifast launched decades ago, the low-fat, relatively low-carb plan is designed to bring about rapid weight loss by coaxing your body into a "fat-burning state" known as ketosis. If you can stick with it, a diet of 1, calories a day can certainly induce rapid weight loss.
